agreed. also that wiki article doesnt say anything we dont already know. once you buy a high end sound system and can hear the difference between VBR and CBR, then you are knowledgeable enough to post.

u guys need to accept that VBR encoding does NOT affect the sound quality. It is just another encoding algorythm. It equals and even tops 320 quality just like the wikipedia article says.

Big disadvantage is that encoding takes much longer. Anyone shouting 320 is better quality because its 320 is a idiot who dont understand shit about music encoding and the quality of it

Actually what VBR does is encode the pieces of music on the bitrate they need to be to be superb..... a part of a track with lower volume for example doesnt need a 320Kbit bitstream... parts with a lot of music going on needs 320

this is exactly what VBR does !! so there isnt any music quality lost because on the lower bitrate parts of a VBR track the music DOES NOT NEED a 320kbit

now the 2xx Kbit which u see is an avarage of the VBR track. In every VBR track there are parts that are 320Kbit , the parts that dont need it gets a lower bitrate

its simple to understand... laughing my ass off about all the people commenting about things they dont understand.

So VBR does a better job by looking exactly at the track and wich part of music need wich bitrate...
