thanks for sharing, I'll wait for WEB rls though
"take me there" omg, why? :( those annoying vocals make my ears throw up
WTF its VBR NONONONO
NEED 320 FUCK SRG FUCK SRG I NEED 320
WTF this is VBR ... no-one complains on this ??? why is everyone complaining about HB and VBR but not on SRG and VBR ? WTF WTF
ITS SO STRANGE
oh no... i get it, it shows 1gabba commenters who complain about VBR are retards
anyway, you kinda failed proving your point because all CD releases should be VBR by scene rules.
on the other hand, WEB can be both 320 or VBR. and yeah, retards complaining about VBR should buy their own 320kbit
I don't think you understand how scene works and how VBR works...
scene rules for retail (CD / CDM / CDS etc) is VBR because thats the BEST encoding algorythm. They could NOT do the same for WEB because not all webshops sell VBR and WEB must remain untouched (because the source is unavailable). If you buy WAV however from webshop you must also encode to VBR
so his point is correct. VBR is THE choice of scene goeroes , and VBR is just as good as 320Kbit
Thats the true story coz i was in such a council
I know perfectly well how VBR works, thats why it pisses me off people judge quality just because something is encoded in VBR...
You never ever read any one complaing about quality on scene CD rips in VBR. But when a WEB is in VBR all hell break loose. Its so unrespectfull and by far the most complete bullshit i have ever read.
I like 1gabba but i HATE all those retarded commenters. In my opinion 1gabba should close comments because there arent many usefull comments on it.
explain pls in terms of WAV. a (scene) cd rip is always in WAV first then encoded with lame and a WEB from the label to the shop is always the WAV master and then encoded by the shop...
i wonder what you type next LOL
when you buy CD or vinyl, you haz lossless audio without any variations (don't include fakes and stuff) and when you buy web release, it's already converted (idk about buying WAV sry). amazon just acts like 5hit with its vbr, i bet it costs same as 320 at hs.com.
anyway, ripping physical stuff in VBR is scene rule, you can't do anything with it. selling webs in VBR is not in scene rules.
idk what i'm writing
So my point was and IS:
VBR is a very accurate encoding algorythm that does NOT affect the quality of a track because the part that needs the full 320, gets the full 320.
Now an CD's no-one complain on quality, but on WEB everybody complains, thats complete bullshit because:
CD and WEB are both encoded from a master (a cd rip = WAV and a web tracks is send by label as WAV)
WAV encoded to VBR is just as good as 320 (otherwise scene rules would allow 320 on cd's right)
So in the end when you say WEB in VBR is low quality then you are also say ALL SCENE CD's in VBR are low quality because they are encoded the same
from WAV to VBR MP3
Amen
VBR quality is worse than 320 because the bitrate is lower all the time.
VBR does not have the same quality at a lower size, its still the same mp3 encoder.
What VBR does is it allocates the alvailable bitrate better.
"The advantages of VBR are that it produces a better quality-to-space ratio compared to a CBR file of the same data. The bits available are used more flexibly to encode the sound or video data more accurately, with fewer bits used in less demanding passages and more bits used in difficult-to-encode passages." see Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Variable_bitrate
It is better at quality to space, not quality to bitrate, so ≈256 avg VBR sounds better than 256 CBR
true for some parts
only:
VBR quality is worse than 320 because the bitrate is lower all the time. IS NOT TRUE
VBR also has passages encoded in 320 as your wiki explains perfectly
see:
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/mydeneaclame.cfm
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/163747
or google
it clearly is states by experts far more better then me that VBR is more accurate and better for sound quality then CBR
another beautifull topic:
http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t30553.html
in the end VBR is better in constant quality. Read the bottom line:
"having said that, 320kbps is overkill, and a VBR file around 200kbps (like --preset standard) will sound identical, 99% of the time."
I just need 1 track!
