DJ Hidden's third full length album is such a rich and
encompassing experience that a few words can't do justice to its
diversity and sharpness. A seamless combination of all of Noel
Wessels's projects and tastes, it takes its listeners from the
calmest, most evocative ambiences to the fastest, most pounding
dancefloor highs. Nobody writes a track like DJ Hidden does, and
we highly doubt that anybody is going to catch up with a musician
whose blasts outside his expected boundaries with such commanding
force, as 'Enclosed' is a lot more than a regular album.

It's hard to express it with words how awesome this album is...

#2

A real masterpiece, definitely worth buying!

#3

Fucking VBR

#4

What's so bad about that? If VBR is done properly you won't be able to tell the difference while listening to it.

#5

whats VBR?

#6

VBR is variable bit rate, this means the bitrate of the audio file changes to suit the needs of the audio throughout the track, so in verses it will be 320KBps but in intros, outros and breakdowns, the audio file wont be a full 320 but only whats needed.

#7

1st: Bandcamp's non-scene FLAC/320 kbps WEB version leaked/shared/was available the very day the album released (28-Oc-2013). For mentally handicapped, here's google search query example: "Hidden Enclosed WEB".

2nd: For those guys playing pros that hear difference between VBR -V0 and 320 kbps there's FLAC's CD rip by the same hM (aka SRG) group in the neighbour topic. D/l and convert it to w/e audio format you like. Oh yes, pros might cba to d/l 3x size (vs. 320 kbps) of free content and don't want to know how to convert it to MP3 (google "flac mp3 convert")

3nd: FYI, MP3 CD rips are bound by scene's official MP3 release rules that say:
"For ALL sources which need encoding (CD, VINYL, DVD, BLU-RAY, WEB-WAV, SBD, CABLE, LINE, etc.) you must use LAME 3.98.4 with preset V0 ("-V0"). Additional switches which would affect the mp3 quality are forbidden, especially no minimum or maximum bitrate limits."
So you will never see MP3 320 kbps scene CD rips until these rules change.

4nd: About VBR, if you cba to google or proceed directly to wikipedia, here's quote from Hydrogenaydio:
"In Variable Bitrate (VBR) coding, the user chooses the desired quality level and/or a range of allowable bitrates. Then the encoder tries to maintain the selected quality during the whole stream by choosing the optimal amount of data to represent each frame of audio. The main advantage is that the user is able to specify the quality level and conserve as much space as possible, but the inconvenience is that the final file size is quite unpredictable."
In short, via VBR you reduce file size (i.e. HDD space - which in year 2013 is hardly an issue) via encoder trying to "intellectually"/adaptively apply bit rate depending on the current contents of the track's small fracture (e.g. it would be an obvious overkill to encode silence as 320 kbps since you'll never hear difference if it's encoded as 128 kbps or lower).
So save space and d/l times and go for this VBR -V0 (i.e. max quality for VBR) CD rip version or pick other versions. Nothing to whine about.

If you're playing these tracks in mixes, you should be buying them.
Actually, you should buy it regardless, absolute work of art.

#9

I guess everyone knows this stuff is for sale and the reason why it shows up here for free. And 99% ppl here r precisely for free stuff - for listening purposes, not mixing/DJing (at least at pro level to get profit out of stolen from colleagues stuff).

Well, imho it's quite same "work of art" as Hidden's previous "The Later After" (2007) / "The Words Below" (2009) albums. Not to mention even earlier releases by Ophidian/Meander @ Meta4 Recordings.

#10

Amazing album :O Sadly cue is done wrong but plan to buy it so that wont be an issue anymore :)
