Funny how a track just over 4 minutes gets the name "extended version" :DDD
I know, I know, it's because there is also a radio version and the other version is the full track.

But I mean; where are those 6+ minutes tracks of back in the days? Says a lot about the inspiration of most artists in the harder styles nowadays.

Is the scene really evolved into such a "short track" standard because of the audience or because of the ( in my eyes ) lack of inspiration.
Is a DJ set more boring when there are only ( or mainly ) long tracks in it?
In other words: If the producers would start to make longer tracks again, will the crowd still enjoy sets with such tracks in it?

You call an intro/outro with only hi-hats inspiration?

Ok maybe I was a little bit too quick and rude about the inspiration part.
It's just my opinion that most tracks of earlier ( and more specific the longer ones ) just bring the story ( = in my eyes the musical spirit of an artist ) a lot better than those short tracks we see a lot these days.
And to me that generates the feeling lots of artists of today DO have an idea for a track/song, but misses the ability to create a story around it.
Of course, if you solely look at an intro only consisting out of hi-hats/low-hats/snares, yes than I agree with you.
But what I search in a song is that same ability, to creating that story, and that's what I miss in most tracks nowadays. Giving me the ( probably ) unfairly feeling they lack inspiration.

But hey, it's a personal opinion/feeling. So if you do not agree than that's your good right.

P.s.: I wasn't talking about hardstyle only, more in general of harder styles that I have listened to in the past years.

The reason old tracks often have a long boring intro and outro are just because producers wanted to make their tracks DJ friendly so it would get more air time. (as it becomes a lot easier to mix the tracks together on a turntable)

That makes sense. Didn't looked at it like this before. Thanks for pointing that out.

I started listening to electro house dance and then I get tired I started listening to DNB and then marvel Hardcore ... not an opinion based on speeds bmp because Speedcore is a limit I like to hear but do not mix (I am not producer).

So you see that people will want to go hear other things and found this new sound called Hardstyle; I also like my NOW because before I looked it up repetitive and wise as several minutes before taxes go up or down a song; know how he could continue singing and tones.

Now I like it more because it is strong, distorted and solid; in the sense that the song starts, rises and falls beautifully and then ends with full force (and some own songs end recesses of mixing in the dancefloor)

The echo of the issues are shorter favor the general public who wants to hear something new ... the Hardcore songs I like too much but I see no sense that the kick and speed are so long if you can give the idea the music itself with opportunities to hear more variety in a DJ Set; frustration but if I hear those songs that do not reach anywhere and last for 4 minutes or less.

The quality of the DJs is reflected more in subjects not as long lasting.
