Scene releases are subjected to greater scrutiny and have to follow specific rules that most non-sceners ignore (source, quality, packing, etc).

The vast majority of non-scene releases are perfectly fine, but occasionally some bullshit appears — such as Brainpain_and_Homeboy_-_Heavy_Metal_Kings_EP-(EGO1ST006)-WEB-2013-BC (suspected double-compression and sample-rate conversion). At least with scene releases, problems are more easily noticed and nukes are issued.

However IMO there's a lot of trustworthy non-scene peers sharing hardcore now, so lack of interest from the scene may not be too much of a problem.

they're usually easier to find and they're release the same shop quality (sometimes non-sceners rip tracks from different sources or they re-encode tracks with lower quality to 320).
