Nope, it's because the names with letters couldn't be used (I know this is true for at least TWSTD and NSCLT), but they already did use the names ;)

NSCLT has to change the name because there's a rock band named Noisecult!
Not sure about TWSTD... there are two "artists" names TWSTD, one makes hardstyle, the other bigroom!? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I know the guys from TWSTD personally, and I know they changed their name because there were quite some acts/bands/other things named 'Twisted'. There indeed is another artist name 'TWSTD', but last time I checked the 'Hardstyle TWSTD' had more Facebook likes AND are signed to a major label.
