Hard to believe this guy played at Qlimax back in the day...
In all fairness, Mondello is actually capable of making good melodies, but damn, he's an awful producer.
Every now and again, I wonder if this guy ever gives up and/or died. I guess at least he's persistent? I can't really say much about his ability, since it's all over the place. For every decent aspect in one of his tracks, there's dozens of other problems underlying it that make you wonder if he's actually trying to genuinely make a song or if he simply cannot. Ranging from old Blutonium Boy samples as his track vocals, to incredibly dry leads, all of the way to confusing key changes that completely clash with an otherwise okay chord progression. Oh, and all of this tends to make his song structures really stick out like a sore thumb, as if every track was produced under the same template in an assembly line, occasionally varying up a few details here and there.
Also, Papyrus font for the album artwork works wonders for your professional look, as well as integrity.
But mr. Mondello is not the greatest producer but has made some descent shit in the early days. Last 4-5 years are defenitely not his very best to say the least. But as a dj ...man...he is one of the most gifted ones. He mixing capabilities are superb.
