Ruffneck fell off a long ass time ago. Pretty much everything his label put out in the 90s sounded exactly the same and became boring very quick. You heard one track from the label, you heard them all. It didn't help that dude was like half the artists himself using his several aliases. Granted i enjoyed a ruffneck that every now and then on some compilation with artists from several labels, but you easily got bored of the tracks because you just instantly heard "oh this is ruffneck label shit"

After destroying enzyme's reputation with low-quality releases, what do you do? Go backwards to the previous venture that made you lots of $$$ and see if that works.... Sorry Ruffneck.... It doesn't. He will forever be known as the guy that for a while, ran probably the highest quality dutch hardcore label ever, and then fucked it up so bad that all gained respect was lost in only a year. Old fart should just retire before becoming any more of a joke.

that's because (perhaps) he had a lack of producers who could really handle those old enzyme days, having only Conrad on board will lead you to nowhere. His top's like: Nosferatu, Sei2ure, Endymion moved to another label and doing progress well, guys like: Hamunaptra only making a view that he is busy with smnth, Meagashira also moved on.

But I agree, Ruffneck usually does better when featured on a track than on his own.

Would be curious to see Ophidian on a more popular label though, he's probably the artist on the scene that's recognized for his incredible and true talent and creativity

Not like he ever made a great track SOLO anyway... The only good shit he came out with on Enzyme were collaborations with FAR SUPERIOR producers who probably could have made them without him. Pre-enzyme? NO tracks worth mentioning
