Detest is like ancient Egypt - Started at his peak then descent into boring mundane braindead shit.... I couldn't get worse at something I am good at if I tried my hardest.... How does he do it?

#2

Unfortunately I agree. He made awesome tracks in his early days.

#3

1. Because he was never good to start with, over rated like 90% in the scene, got lucky and makes tracks with names like "hardcore to the penis" because he thinks its cool.
2. Because he saw that making poor music actually gets your music released to the braindead masses to enjoy

Someone who has been listening to hardcore for 25 years i couldnt recognise one Detest track.

#4

You have to blame the rapper Redman for the "hardcore to the penis" though.

#5

His best stuff was when he was playing live sets at small hardcore parties in Germany, check out any of his sets on lsdb from 2007-2008.... Hyper-breakbeat high-energy madness, constant switch-ups, different beasty kicks for every track... I think he maybe hit his head in late 2008

We see this a lot in the scene. Producers that are sampling a lot, then can not sample anymore because REAL labels will not approve it, and then this is their peak.

Do not forget that there are so many labels now because REAL PROFESSIONAL labels will not release this, so they start their own label.

#7

The labels won't release them out of fear of being sued for the samples right?
